Theatre by the River is composed of emerging Winnipeg theatre professionals who, at the same time as creating a forum for their continued growth as artists, want to make theatre as accessible as possible to the Winnipeg community.

The company was formed in November 2005 with a mandate to perform theatrical work throughout Manitoba that attracts and excites both traditional and non-traditional audiences by being artistically provocative, socially significant and financially accessible. Entering its fifth season, Theatre by the River has already enjoyed great success and looks forward to continued adventures.

The art Theatre by the River produces is intimate, minimalistic, entertaining, but above all urgently relevant. We are a theatre company that seeks to connect - to connect artists to their craft, individuals to their fellow audience members, and audiences to their place in the continuing story of human existence.
